PLAXIS: NATM and TBM Tunneling Analysis

In this course, you will learn the details of both NATM (New Austrian Tunnel Method) and TBM (Tunnel Boring Machine) methods in PLAXIS 2D and 3D. Tunneling is a complex process and has grown to be an industry in and of itself. PLAXIS has provided a way to model your tunnel easily with the help of a simple yet elegant user interface. You will be able to import your specific tunnel geometry from your favorite CAD software and start from there. You can also draw the tunnel section directly into the Tunnel Designer of PLAXIS. Tunnel Designer is a dedicated method inside PLAXIS designed to help deal with different aspects of tunnel modeling. The use of Tunnel Designer is fully explained in this course. The complex sequencing or tunnel advancement procedure is fully automated using the command runner/python scripting in PLAXIS.
